Tega Industries

In 1976, trained engineer Madan Mohan Mohanka founded Tega Industries in Kolkata, India. The company started through a technical and financial collaboration with Skega AB of Sweden with the goal of solving complex problems in mineral processing and material handling. Tega focuses on designing and manufacturing critical-to-operate consumables for the mining and mineral industries. The company manufactures specialized, wear-resistant rubber, polyurethane, steel, and ceramic-based products used in grinding, screening, and material handling. This focus on essential, high-wear components established Tega as a key supplier. A significant moment came in 1998 when the Mohanka family acquired the full equity stake from their Swedish partners, taking complete control of the company's destiny. Under the leadership of Madan Mohanka and later his son, CEO Mehul Mohanka, Tega expanded its global footprint, establishing manufacturing hubs in key mining regions like Chile, South Africa, and Australia. This international presence allows Tega to serve over 700 customers in more than 70 countries. The playbook culminated in a major liquidity event in December 2021, when Tega Industries launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The offering was overwhelmingly successful, getting oversubscribed by 219 times and listing at a 68% premium, signaling strong investor confidence in its business model and future growth.
