About Techniwood
Techniwood, established in 2007 by François Pelissier, Berthier Remi, and Francois Pelissier, operates in the construction technology sector with a focus on decarbonization. In April 2023, the construction group Léon Grosse acquired a 70% stake in the company, a strategic move to accelerate its own low-carbon construction activities. This acquisition has made the decarbonization of construction a priority for the purchasing group.
The company specializes in the design and off-site manufacturing of bio-sourced wooden facades. Its business model is centered on providing prefabricated facade panels for both new construction and energy renovation projects, serving public and private project owners as well as general contractors. Production takes place at its factory in Rumilly, France, with additional sites in Lyon/Bron, Epinal, and Versailles. The company has an industrial production capacity of 80,000 to 120,000 square meters of facade per year.
Techniwood's flagship product is the Panobloc®, a patented, multi-layer wood-frame facade system made from bio-sourced, low-carbon materials. This system integrates insulation, cladding, joinery, and blinds into a single prefabricated panel. The panels offer flexibility in design, allowing for adjustments in the number of layers (3 to 5) to optimize thermal, fire, and acoustic performance, as well as customizable dimensions and openings to fit specific architectural requirements. The off-site prefabrication process is designed to reduce on-site disturbances and construction timelines while improving thermal performance and eliminating thermal bridges. Techniwood also provides traditional wood-frame panels and has formed the Weclad alliance with three other European facade specialists—Kyotec, Rinaldi, and De Groot & Visser—to increase its industrial capacity and offer large-scale bio-sourced facade solutions.
