Synerchip's core focus was the development and promotion of the Digital Interactive Interface for Video & Audio (DiiVA) technology. This technology was engineered to create a home entertainment network where devices like televisions, video players, and portable gadgets could be interconnected. The DiiVA standard facilitated the simultaneous transmission of uncompressed video and audio, USB data, and Ethernet over a single, low-cost cable, positioning the TV as the central hub for interaction and content navigation. The system was designed to support emerging formats like 3D video and 4K displays, aiming to streamline the user experience for digital entertainment.

The company's business model was centered on designing and marketing these application-specific semiconductors to consumer electronics manufacturers. A significant milestone was the successful tape-out of its first DiiVA transmitter and receiver chips. In a key funding event in April 2010, Synerchip secured $10.5 million in a Series C round. This round was co-led by JAFCO Asia and Pac-Link Capital, with participation from existing investors including Spirox, Magic Shares, Shinden, and CEO David Lee. This financing was intended to fuel the company's growth phase, which included the opening of a Guangzhou office to leverage support from the Chinese government and industry. PitchBook data indicates the company is now out of business.
