Stellar Alpina is a Zurich SpaceTech company founded in 2026 by ARIS alumni Rick Röthlisberger, Simi Y. Wespi, Victor Elliesen and Patrick Egli that develops compact rotating detonation rocket engines (RDREs) and in-space vehicle architectures for orbital transfers, repositioning and future cislunar mobility. Detonation-based propulsion aims to deliver smaller, lighter engines with higher performance than conventional deflagration thrusters; the team completed Engine 0 hotfire campaigns within 82 days of incorporation, with eight detonative hotfires showing stable multi-wave operation cited as early commercial RDRE milestones in Europe. In May 2026 Stellar Alpina raised €3.8 million (CHF 3.5 million) in a pre-Seed led by Founderful with LP&E and strategic DeepTech investors to advance flight-oriented engines; separate Venture Kick support-programme capital is distinct from the priced equity pre-Seed.
