SheMed is the UK's first clinician-led GLP-1 weight loss programme, designed specifically for women. Founded in April 2024 by sisters Olivia Ferro (CEO) and Chloe Ferro (Chief Growth Officer), the company was established to address the gap in personalised, accessible healthcare for women, inspired by Olivia's own experience navigating diagnosis and treatment.

The company's primary offering is a direct-to-consumer, test-to-treat digital weight management programme built around GLP-1 medications, hormone-based treatments that regulate appetite and blood sugar. The service begins with a free at-home Tasso+ blood collection device, screening for key health markers including glucose levels, lipid profile, and liver and thyroid function. Based on these results and a full medical profile, UK-licensed clinicians prescribe a tailored GLP-1 treatment plan, including the Wegovy pen (semaglutide), Mounjaro pen (tirzepatide), and the Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide, MHRA-approved June 2026). The service includes medication delivery and is managed through a digital platform and app offering 24/7 support, wellness tracking, and ongoing clinical check-ins.

SheMed serves over 100,000 members across the UK and is running a real-world GLP-1 study with UCL, spanning more than 8,000 women. In 2025, the company raised a $50 million Series A, reaching unicorn status as the second UK femtech unicorn after Flo Health. The funding supports UK operations, clinical research, and expansion of its medical and technology teams. Sister brand HeMed extends the same clinician-led model to men.
