Transforming Land Productivity with the H4 Reefinator and DFC9
About Rocksgone
Rocksgone Pty Ltd, a family-owned and operated business based in Western Australia, has been addressing the challenge of unproductive, rocky land since its inception. The company was founded by Tim Pannell, a former farmer with over 30 years of firsthand experience with the difficulties of farming on rocky terrain. Frustrated by the lack of an economical solution to improve land with laterite rock, ironstone, gravel ridges, or limestone, Pannell initially imported a rotary rock crusher for a contracting business. This venture proved the existing technology was ill-suited for the harsh Australian conditions, prompting him to design and develop a machine specifically tailored to the local environment.
This journey led to the creation of the company's flagship product, the Reefinator, a tractor-drawn rock crushing machine. The first prototype was launched in 2013, designed to dig up, crush, and ultimately convert common laterite "reef" rock into usable topsoil for cropping. The business was formally established in 2015 to handle the engineering, design, and manufacturing of this internationally patented machinery. Rocksgone's business model revolves around the direct sale of its heavy-duty machinery to clients in the agricultural, mining, transport, and civil industries. They also provide comprehensive after-sales support, including servicing, operator training, and the supply of wear parts.
The company's primary product line includes the award-winning Reefinator and the more recent Dynamic Force Crusher 9 (DFC9). The Reefinator functions by ripping up rock and crushing it against a grate, leaving behind fist-sized residual rocks after several passes and creating a level, trafficable surface. The newer H4 model features hydraulic tynes, weighs 28 tonnes, and can work deeper than its predecessors. The 32-tonne DFC9 is a hydraulic tyne machine designed to crush, rip, mix, and level sheetrock up to 600 millimeters deep, targeting the mining and civil sectors. The machines are manufactured in Western Australia and are lauded for their durability, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness, aiming to increase the sustainability and growth of their customers' operations by turning previously unusable land into productive assets.
