Reneonix is a deep-tech startup founded in 2023 by Iwan Richard (CEO), Karthik Sankar (COO), Varun Pandithurai (CTO), and Mohammad Mohiyeddin (CCO). Based in Chennai, India, the company is developing a technology-driven infrastructure for recycling materials in the packaging industry, with an initial focus on glass. The leadership team combines experience in operations, technology development, and scaling from both corporate and startup environments.

The company operates on a Recycling Infrastructure as a Service (RIAAS) model, providing data-driven solutions to governments and businesses. Its platform integrates several technologies to optimize the glass recycling process. This includes using Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) for collection, IoT for processing, AI for lifecycle assessment, and blockchain for transparent tracking. Laser-etched QR codes on glass containers enable detailed traceability throughout their lifecycle.

Reneonix aims to transform glass waste into high-quality raw materials, such as cullet and higher-value derivatives like foam glass. The system is designed to minimize environmental impact while maximizing economic value for manufacturers, recyclers, and public agencies. By establishing scalable microfactories, the company intends to create a more distributed and efficient recycling network compared to large, centralized facilities.

In February 2026, Reneonix secured ₹1.7 crore (approximately $187K) in a pre-seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures, with participation from various institutions and angel investors. The startup is backed by several bodies, including the Department of Science and Technology and the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme. It has been incubated at multiple innovation hubs such as Anna Incubator, NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore, and iTNT Hub.
