Quantum Industries (QI) is a Vienna quantum-secure communications company founded in 2023 by Dr Felix Tiefenbacher and Dr Rupert Ursin that commercialises entanglement-based Quantum Key Distribution (eQKD) for critical infrastructure. Its systems aim to provide physics-backed encryption resistant to classical and quantum attacks, supporting European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI) and data-centre interconnect use cases; the company has reported early booked sales and customer projects with national and international infrastructure providers. In March 2025 QI closed a €9.5 million (about $10 million) Seed led by Sparring Capital Partners and Findus Venture with KGAL, with Dr Wolfgang Bernhard joining the board for Sparring, to commercialise the technology and scale secure communications offerings.
