About PayU Enterprise

Founded in 2010 by Oren Levy and Ronen Morecki, Zooz started as a Tel Aviv-based technology firm focused on simplifying the complexities of online payments for businesses. Levy, with over 15 years of experience in payments and commerce, and Morecki, acting as CTO, aimed to address the friction in mobile and e-commerce checkouts. They developed a cloud-based payment platform designed to give merchants a single connection to multiple payment providers, helping them optimize transactions and analyze data to make smarter decisions. The company successfully raised $39.5 million over four funding rounds, with its Series C in 2016 raising $24 million.

In July 2018, Zooz was acquired by PayU, the fintech and e-payments division of Naspers, for an estimated $80 to $100 million. This acquisition followed a productive partnership where Zooz's technology powered the PayU Hub platform. The deal integrated Zooz's team and technology into PayU, with Levy and Morecki joining PayU's leadership to focus on technology and business development. The combined entity aimed to establish a new global standard in payments infrastructure.

Now operating as PayU Enterprise, the business provides a sophisticated payment orchestration platform for enterprise merchants. This platform functions as a payment operating system, offering a single API to connect with a wide array of local and global payment methods. Its core services include intelligent transaction routing to improve approval rates, fraud management, real-time reporting, and advanced data analytics powered by AI. The system is designed to help businesses scale internationally by navigating cross-border payment complexities and catering to regional consumer preferences. Security is a key component, featuring network tokenization, 3D Secure 2.0, and PCI DSS compliance to protect payment processes. The business model centers on providing these comprehensive payment solutions that allow merchants to manage and optimize their entire payment stack through a unified platform.
