About Orbem
Orbem is a Munich deeptech company that industrialises magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with vertical AI so food producers and researchers can non-invasively analyse biological materials at high tempo. Its Genus Focus platform sexes poultry eggs in under a second without culling male chicks, and Genus Scale checks fertilisation status before incubation; the company reports more than 170 million eggs scanned and is active in in-ovo sexing across several European markets. The same MRI-plus-AI stack is expanding into fruit and vegetable quality inspection (internal defects without cutting open produce) and longer-term human-healthcare applications, built on a growing proprietary biological dataset. Founded by Dr Pedro Gómez and team and headquartered in Munich with a Houston US office opened in 2025, Orbem closed a €55.5 million Series B in January 2026 led by Innovation Industries, joined by Supernova Invest, with follow-on from General Catalyst, 83North, The Venture Collective, Possible Ventures and angels.
