Founded by sleep medicine physician Dr. Daniel Rifkin, the Buffalo, New York-based company connects patients with board-certified sleep medicine specialists through video consultations, coordinates at-home sleep testing kits, and manages ongoing therapy support, including CPAP devices, oral appliances, Inspire implant referrals, and, where clinically appropriate, GLP-1 medications such as Zepbound. The platform integrates with consumer wearables like the Oura Ring to incorporate biometric sleep data into clinical decision-making, and partners with device makers such as ResMed and Inspire Medical Systems. Ognomy Sleep serves both individual patients and referring healthcare providers, offering the latter a no-cost referral pathway. The company operates in all 50 US states and is in-network with insurance covering more than 200 million Americans, addressing a large and largely underdiagnosed patient population, with estimates suggesting over 80% of people with sleep apnea remain undiagnosed or untreated.
