Nifter
A publicly traded and trusted NFT & digital art destination for curated authentic artwork, sports memorabilia, exclusive content, and more directly from renowned artists & athletes
About Nifter
Nifter operated as a digital marketplace within the financial software and cryptocurrency sectors, focusing on the creation and trade of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Initially launched as a platform for music and sound NFTs, the company expanded its scope to become a broader marketplace for art, sports, video, and entertainment memorabilia. The platform was a subsidiary of ClickStream Corporation (OTC: CLIS) and was previously known as Rebel Blockchain, Inc.
The core of Nifter's business model was to provide a platform for artists, collectors, and fans to create, sell, and discover unique digital assets. It aimed to empower creators by allowing them to monetize their work directly and protect their copyrights. The company utilized Ethereum ERC-721 and ECR-1155 compliant tokens, which stored ownership data on the blockchain. Revenue streams were planned to extend beyond marketplace commissions; Nifter established a production and distribution department to partner with artists on producing live events and distributing content to major streaming services, using NFTs as a mechanism for ticketing and tracking royalty splits.
Throughout its operational history, Nifter underwent several strategic shifts. A significant relaunch occurred in August 2022, promoted as a partnership with Carl "Supreme" Harte, founder of G Carma Inc., to pivot towards a comprehensive art, sports, and entertainment marketplace. This relaunch was steered by then-ClickStream CEO Frank Magliochetti, a managing partner at Parcae Capital with a background in corporate finance and restructuring. In October 2022, sports and entertainment attorney Michael J. Smith was appointed CEO of the parent company, ClickStream, replacing Magliochetti. The company pursued an ambitious growth strategy, announcing a $40 million seed funding round in November 2022 to fund global expansion, marketing, and talent acquisition. Despite these efforts and a launch at Art Basel Miami, the company ceased operations, with its status listed as "Out of Business" as of April 28, 2024.
