A significant pivot occurred in 2013 when the studio shifted its entire focus to the nascent VR sector, becoming one of the first developers to work with early Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR prototypes. This early commitment allowed the company to build deep expertise in creating immersive experiences from the ground up for VR. The company’s business model encompasses both the internal development of its own intellectual property (IP) and co-development projects with major entertainment partners on global IP. Additionally, nDreams operates a third-party publishing division, launched in 2021 with a $2 million fund to support and release games from external indie VR developers. Revenue is generated through the sale of its developed and published games across all major VR platforms, including Meta Quest, PlayStation VR, and SteamVR.

The company's portfolio includes a variety of critically and commercially successful titles. Key products include *Phantom: Covert Ops*, a stealth-action game set in a kayak that achieved over $1 million in revenue shortly after launch, and the critically acclaimed PlayStation VR2 shooter, *Synapse*. nDreams has also collaborated on major franchises, developing *Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity* with Ubisoft and *Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord* with Sony Pictures Virtual Reality. As a publisher, it has released titles like *Little Cities* and *PowerWash Simulator VR*. To support its diverse projects, the company is structured into multiple specialized studios, including its Farnborough headquarters, the Brighton-based Near Light (acquired in 2022), and two fully-remote studios, Orbital and Elevation, which focus on live service games and AAA titles, respectively.

nDreams has seen substantial growth, backed by funding from investors like Mercia Technologies before Aonic acquired a minority stake in March 2022 with a $35 million investment. This culminated in a full acquisition by Aonic in November 2023 for approximately $110 million. Following the acquisition, the co-founders remained in their leadership roles to steer the company's next phase of growth. In May 2025, Patrick O'Luanaigh transitioned from CEO to Chairman, with industry veteran Tom Gillo taking over as CEO.
