The company's journey includes significant financial milestones. In July 2022, Mondee went public on the Nasdaq via a merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), ITHAX Acquisition Corp. However, the company faced financial challenges, leading to a voluntary Chapter 11 filing in January 2025 to execute a strategic restructuring. In April 2025, a new entity named Tabhi, owned by TCW Asset Management Company, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, and Prasad Gundumogula, acquired substantially all of Mondee's assets, bringing it out of bankruptcy. Following the restructuring, Gundumogula returned as CEO, holding a majority equity stake in the new company, which now operates as Tabhi with a significantly reduced debt load.
