Mindgard is a Lancaster University spinout cybersecurity company founded in 2022 by Dr Peter Garraghan and Steve Street that specialises in offensive security and threat assessment for artificial intelligence. Its model-agnostic platform delivers dynamic application security testing and automated red teaming across generative AI, large language models, NLP, image and audio systems, integrating with CI/CD and MLOps pipelines to surface risks such as prompt injection, jailbreaks, data leakage, model extraction and evasion. Mindgard serves financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and cybersecurity customers with a continuously updated library of AI attack scenarios grounded in more than a decade of academic research. In August 2026 Mindgard raised a $30 million (£22.2 million) Series A led by Album VC with Karma Ventures and existing investors .406 Ventures, Atlantic Bridge, IQ Capital and Lakestar to scale the AI security platform internationally.
