The company's core technology is Supercorrelation™, a software-based product that enhances the performance of standard GNSS receivers without requiring additional hardware. It works by using advanced physics and machine learning to more accurately distinguish between direct satellite signals and those that are reflected off buildings (multipath interference) or are malicious 'spoofing' signals. This allows for up to a 10x improvement in positioning accuracy in challenging urban environments, enhanced sensitivity, and greater resistance to jamming and spoofing attacks. Key products include S-GNSS® and S-GNSS® Auto, which integrate this technology into GNSS chipsets for various applications.

Dr. Ramsey Faragher, the founder and President, is a recognized expert in navigation and positioning technologies with a PhD from the University of Cambridge. Prior to founding Focal Point, he worked at BAE Systems, developing the award-winning NAVSOP positioning system, and was a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge. In 2021, Scott Pomerantz, a GPS industry veteran who founded Global Locate which was later acquired by Broadcom, joined as CEO to lead the company's commercial scaling. Dr. Faragher now serves as President and CTO.

Since its founding with a seed round led by Passion Capital in 2015, Focal Point has secured multiple funding rounds, including a Series C round co-led by Molten Ventures and Gresham House. The company has also secured strategic investments and collaborations with major corporations like General Motors, u-blox, and STMicroelectronics to integrate its technology into automotive and mobile platforms.
