Mind Robotics

Mind Robotics is a spin-off company from Rivian, launched in late 2025 to focus on industrial artificial intelligence and robotics. The company's creation was announced in Rivian's third-quarter shareholder letter. Rivian's CEO, RJ Scaringe, serves as the chairman of the Mind Robotics board, and Rivian maintains an ownership stake.

The venture aims to enhance manufacturing efficiency and other physical-world operations by applying AI to data from Rivian's own production lines, creating what it calls a “robotics data flywheel”. Initially, its work will be centered on Rivian's manufacturing environment before expanding to broader industrial applications. This initiative follows Rivian's strategy of creating spin-offs for new technology areas, allowing them to attract external investment and operate with more flexibility.

Mind Robotics secured $115 million in a seed funding round led by the venture capital firm Eclipse. Jiten Behl, a partner at Eclipse and a former Rivian executive, is involved with the investment. This funding provides the resources to start developing industrial automation tools based on Rivian's factory systems. As a new entity, Mind Robotics has a limited public presence, with a trademark application covering a wide range of potential uses.
