About MicroBio
Microbio (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., established in 2004, is the mainland China subsidiary of the Taiwanese biotechnology group Microbio Co., Ltd. The parent company, founded in May 2000, focuses on new drug research and development, organic agriculture, and biotechnology venture capital. Microbio Shanghai's mission is to integrate resources across the Taiwan Strait to independently research and develop drugs for clinically urgent needs. The company adheres to scientific and standardized pharmaceutical concepts, rigorously verifying product mechanisms, efficacy, and safety.
The Microbio Group operates through a diversified business model with several members, including Oneness Biotech for global drug development and Cotton Field Organic for organic businesses. The group has developed a proprietary fermentation platform and has successfully received new drug approvals from the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) for products like ChemoYoung and Herbiron. Microbio Shanghai, in collaboration with Oneness Biotech, developed FESPIXON® cream (ON101), a treatment for diabetic foot ulcers. In 2023, FESPIXON® was approved as a Class 1.1 natural new drug by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). Following this, Microbio Shanghai entered into an exclusive commercialization and licensing agreement with China Resources Double-Crane Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the mainland China market. This 20-year agreement grants China Resources Double-Crane exclusive sales and promotion rights.
The parent company, Microbio Co., Ltd., has achieved significant milestones, including being listed on the over-the-counter market in 2006 and being added to the MSCI Global Small Cap Indexes in 2020. The group develops a range of high-quality medical and health care products alongside its new drug pipeline. The company's research focuses on oncology, immune, metabolic, and infectious diseases, utilizing platforms like microbial symbiotic fermentation technology. Other drugs in its pipeline include treatments for atopic dermatitis and allergic asthma (FB-825) and a novel NS5A inhibitor against the Hepatitis C virus (MB-110).
