About Mavoco

Mavoco AG operates as a software specialist in the global telecommunications sector, with a focus on providing connectivity management solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT).

The company was founded in 2013, initially as Machine & Voice Communication GmbH, a consultancy, by Anton Cabrespina and Helmut W. Lehner. The name "Mavoco" is an abbreviation of the original company name, reflecting the industry's early terminology of M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication. The firm restructured into a private stock corporation, MAVOCO AG, in 2018 and officially launched its own branded products in 2021. A significant milestone was achieved in February 2025 with the closing of a Series A+ financing round, securing €11 million to fuel global growth. This funding round was led by 3TS Capital Partners and red-stars.com.

The founders brought extensive telecommunications experience to the venture. Anton Cabrespina previously spent over 15 years as an international sales executive at Nokia, where he launched a "telco in the cloud" solution. Helmut W. Lehner's background includes computer science and nearly 12 years in various management positions at Nokia.

Mavoco's core business revolves around its Connectivity Management Platform (CMP), a full-stack Business Support System (BSS) designed for the IoT. The platform is delivered to a client base that includes mobile network operators (MNOs), mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), resellers, and large enterprises. The business model is based on providing this software to enable clients to manage, monetize, and automate IoT connectivity services. This allows service providers to offer their own IoT solutions, manage device lifecycles, and implement complex billing models.

The CMP is a cloud-native, core-agnostic platform built on open standards, which prevents vendor lock-in for its clients. It enables the management of SIM cards and subscriptions across various networks and countries from a single interface. Key features include real-time monitoring, automated workflows, multi-tenancy for resellers, and sophisticated billing capabilities such as split billing and billing-on-behalf of partners. Mavoco serves various industries, including automotive, smart metering, fleet management, and the sharing economy. The platform has been successfully deployed for tier-1 network operators in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with major European operators set to go live in 2025.
