Marble Imaging, founded in August 2023 in Bremen, Germany, is an Earth Observation (EO) company building a proprietary satellite constellation. The founders, Robert Hook (CEO), Dr. Gopika Suresh (CSO), Alexander Epp (CMO), and Dr. Raul Scarlat, bring together experience from major European space programs like Copernicus, covering mission design, data processing, and end-user applications.

The company is developing Germany's first commercial satellite constellation dedicated to providing daily, very high-resolution (VHR) multispectral imagery of the planet. The long-term vision is to operate up to 200 small satellites. The initial phase involves deploying 20 satellites by 2028, with the first launch fully financed and scheduled for 2026. This constellation aims to deliver imagery with a ground sampling distance of approximately 0.7 meters in the visual, near-infrared (NIR), and short-wave infrared (SWIR) spectrums, enabling up to hourly revisits over specific areas in Europe.

Marble Imaging's business model involves providing this data and derived analytics to a range of clients, including commercial and governmental entities. The company has already secured a €3 million contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) as part of the Copernicus Contributing Missions program. While the satellite constellation is under development, the firm offers analytics services using existing satellite data for applications such as deforestation monitoring, maritime activity, soil moisture assessment, and crisis management. Key strategic partners include Reflex Aerospace for satellite platform development and Scanway for the optical instruments.
