Mantle

Mantle (formerly BitDAO) is a blockchain organization operating within the Ethereum ecosystem. It focuses on developing decentralized applications (dApps) with exceptional user experience, leveraging Ethereum's robust security features. Its primary product is the Mantle Network, a high-performance Ethereum Layer-2 network that offers low fees and faster transaction finality. Originally incubated under BitDAO, Mantle consolidated the two entities in 2023, with the $BIT token converting to $MNT under a community governance vote. Mantle Network uses a modular architecture combining roll-up technology — which bundles multiple transactions into one — with a decentralized data availability layer, enhancing the capital efficiency of Ethereum. The network is advancing toward a ZK (zero-knowledge proof) validity rollup architecture, positioning itself as an institutional-grade settlement and value transfer layer, and was the first L2 to adopt EigenDA technology and enable ETH restaking via EigenLayer. Mantle also operates a significant treasury, governed by $MNT token holders who determine the strategic direction of the ecosystem. This includes launching new initiatives, transferring and recalling treasury resources, assigning and modifying powers to operating teams, and implementing corrective actions — a fully decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) model. Beyond the core network, Mantle has expanded its product suite to include mETH Protocol, a liquid ETH staking and restaking protocol, and Ignition fBTC, a wrapped Bitcoin asset bridging BTC into Web3. It has also formed stablecoin partnerships with Ethena, Agora, and Ondo. To drive ecosystem growth, Mantle operates the Mantle EcoFund, a $200M catalyzed capital pool backed by 20 leading VCs including Polychain and Dragonfly, with strategic support from Mirana Ventures and Bybit.
