Long Lake is an AI holding company that acquires and transforms generational businesses across the American services economy. Founded in 2023 by CEO Alex Taubman and co-founder Zach Frankel, it partners with strong, profitable, growing companies and embeds its own engineers and operators inside them to deploy its proprietary Nexus AI transformation platform, a largely shared, model-agnostic layer of agents, workflows and data that it adapts to each industry. Unlike traditional private equity, Long Lake uses permanent capital, plans to own its companies for decades and focuses on growth rather than cost-cutting; it says it has never conducted a layoff. Its early acquisitions spanned HOA and property management, construction, architecture, HR services and specialty tax. In September 2026 it completed the $6.3B take-private of American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT), its 40th acquisition, bringing its family of companies to nearly 30,000 employees. The company says its first cohort of companies doubled EBITDA in under two years. Long Lake is backed by General Catalyst, Alpha Wave, D1, Thrive Capital, Lightscape Partners and Elad Gil, and has offices in New York and San Francisco.
