The founders, George Kitromelides and Luke Malcolm, bring experience from companies including Siemens, Ursa Major, Williams International, and Anduril. At Anduril, they were instrumental in advancing a turbojet program from the prototype stage to mass production, a background they are now applying to energy generation.

Lazarus Energy's key value proposition lies in its ability to deploy power solutions significantly faster than traditional grid connections or legacy turbine manufacturers, which can have lead times of several years. The company states its power modules can be shipped in a standard container and assembled in weeks, bypassing long grid interconnection queues. A distinct feature of the sCO₂ system is that it does not require water for cooling, instead using direct air cooling. This design addresses a major logistical and environmental challenge, as conventional steam turbines consume trillions of gallons of water annually.

The firm is developing a megawatt-level demonstrator unit and is planning for its first paid customer deployment.
