Laigo Bio
Bispecific antibodies for targeted membrane protein degradation
About Laigo Bio
Laigo Bio is a Utrecht biotechnology company founded in 2021 from Oncode Institute and Argobio Studio research by Professor Madelon Maurice (UMC Utrecht), developing the SureTAC bispecific-antibody platform for targeted membrane protein degradation via lysosomal pathways in oncology, autoimmune and inflammatory disease. The approach aims to remove previously hard-to-drug cell-surface targets with deeper sustained pathway inhibition than conventional antibodies; pipeline work includes PD-L1, VEGF and Wnt-pathway programmes plus immunology candidates for autoimmunity and graft rejection, led by CEO Dr Matthew Baker. After an initial €11.5 million seed close in December 2025 co-led by Kurma Partners and Curie Capital with Argobio Studio, Angelini Ventures, Eurazeo, Oncode Bridge Fund, ROM Utrecht Region and Cancer Research Horizons, Laigo Bio completed a final close in March 2026 bringing the oversubscribed seed to €17 million with new co-lead Biovance Capital (€4 million) and additional Kurma capital.
