KYKLO
Shopify for b2b distributors in the electromechanical industry
About KYKLO
In 2015, two colleagues from the industrial manufacturing world, Remi Ducrocq and Fabien Legouic, saw a massive industry stuck in the past. While working at Schneider Electric, they witnessed how the $640 billion electrical and automation distribution sector was still running on PDF catalogs and phone calls. They envisioned a modern, digital solution, and KYKLO was born. The name, derived from the Greek word for circle, 'kyklos', reflected their mission to expand their customers' circle of influence by bringing them online. KYKLO's playbook was simple yet powerful: provide B2B manufacturers and distributors with the tools for a modern e-commerce experience. They built a platform offering not just a storefront, but a sophisticated Product Information Management (PIM) system. This was crucial, as their team of engineers meticulously created and enriched technical product content, something their clients lacked the resources to do in-house. This focus on high-quality, searchable data allowed technical buyers to find and purchase complex industrial parts with ease. After securing initial funding, the company gained significant momentum in November 2020 with an $8.5 million seed round led by Felicis Ventures and IA Ventures. This capital injection, bringing their total raised to over $10 million, fueled their expansion. The pivotal moment in their journey came in June 2024, when KYKLO was acquired by Epicor, a major enterprise software provider. The acquisition integrated KYKLO’s specialized PIM and e-commerce solutions into Epicor's broader portfolio, validating the founders' initial vision and marking a new chapter in their quest to digitize the industrial supply chain.
