About Kreios Space
Kreios Space is a Vigo aerospace company founded in 2021 by Adrián Senar, Jan Mataró, Francisco Boira, Adrià Barceló, Max Amer and Francisco Bosch that develops Air-Breathing Electric Propulsion (ABEP) so satellites can operate for years in Very Low Earth Orbit (about 150–400 km). Its Helicon Plasma Thruster (K-3) ionises captured atmospheric particles with solar power to counteract drag without onboard chemical propellant, targeting sharper Earth-observation imaging, improved link budgets for direct-to-device connectivity and natural end-of-life de-orbit. After a €2.3 million pre-seed in 2024, Kreios closed an €8 million Seed in September 2025 co-led by the NATO Innovation Fund—its first direct investment in Spain—and JOIN Capital, to prep a first in-orbit ABEP demonstration planned for early 2027.
