Kausable is a Heidelberg-based deep-tech AI startup founded in 2025 by Johannes Haux (CEO), Dr. Benjamin Herdeanu (CTO) and Gregor Ramien (COO), physicists with ties to Heidelberg University and experience across startups and regulated industries. The company builds reasoning-first foundational AI — a causal world model designed to learn from limited data, adapt to unfamiliar situations without costly retraining, and reason about cause and effect rather than memorising historical patterns. Target applications include robotics, energy and finance. The team has published research with Columbia University collaborators and developed TipPFN, a zero-shot forecasting model for rare, high-impact events in complex systems. After a roughly €1.5 million pre-seed in 2025, Kausable raised a €12 million Seed round in July 2026 led by UVC Partners and Entourage Ventures, with HTGF, Mätch VC and angels affiliated with Black Forest Labs, OpenAI and Google DeepMind participating.
