Founded in 2014 by Wayne Wong (also cited as Wang Yifei) and Wang Wenyu, the Shanghai-based company develops advanced telematics systems using customized Android platforms for the automotive aftermarket. The founders brought experience from the tech industry, with Wong previously serving as General Manager of PPTV's Multi-terminal Business Unit and Wenyu as PPTV's Chief Architect.

Jidu Auto now functions as a technology solutions provider for the Ji Yue vehicle brand, focusing on product design, AI driving, and user interface technology.
