Founded in 2021 in Miami by venture capitalists Keith Rabois and Jack Abraham, the company began as a technology-driven e-commerce aggregator focused on acquiring and scaling Shopify-based direct-to-consumer brands. Its original pitch was speed and simplicity: proprietary algorithms could generate a fair offer for an online store within days, giving founders instant liquidity and freeing them to start new ventures. On the back of this model, the company acquired more than 40 e-commerce brands across categories ranging from apparel and skincare to electronics, supplements, and outdoor equipment, and raised over $150 million in equity funding from investors including Khosla Ventures, Atomic, Founders Fund, and General Catalyst, reaching a valuation of $970 million in 2022. Beyond acquisitions, the company experimented with adjacent products such as OpenStore Drive, a service allowing founders to hand over day-to-day operations of their brand without selling it, and a unified storefront designed to encourage cross-shopping across its portfolio. Its playbook for scaling acquired brands combined paid social optimization, systematic ad creative testing, conversion rate improvements, and new product launches — most notably demonstrated with Jack Archer, a men's athleisure brand acquired in March 2022 for $837,000 and grown from roughly $1 million to $10 million in annual sales within a year. As the e-commerce aggregator model lost momentum industry-wide, the company shut down nearly all of its acquired storefronts and, in 2025, completed a strategic pivot: it recapitalized at a $50 million valuation through a $15 million Series C round backed by Khosla Ventures and Atomic, appointed former Rhone growth chief Emma Crepeau as CEO, and rebranded entirely around Jack Archer, its standout portfolio brand. Today the company operates as a direct-to-consumer menswear label offering versatile, technical athleisure — anchored by its signature Jetsetter pants — designed to combine high-end fabrics, comfort, and fit for work, travel, and everyday wear.
