Infinio Systems, Inc. was a private company founded in 2011 by Vishal Misra, who also served as the company's Chief Scientist. The company was based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and operated in the data storage industry, focusing on providing software-based solutions to enhance storage performance in virtualized environments.

Infinio's flagship product was a software-only, server-side caching solution designed to work with VMware environments. This solution aimed to improve storage performance and I/O operations per second (IOPS) without the need for additional hardware. The software was downloadable and could be installed on existing servers, creating a distributed cache from a portion of each server's memory. This approach allowed for a cost-effective way to boost performance for virtual machines and applications, particularly in VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) and other I/O-intensive workloads.

The company's business model was centered on selling its software licenses to IT departments and data center operators that use VMware for virtualization. Infinio's solution was positioned as a non-disruptive and easy-to-implement way to address storage performance bottlenecks. In August 2021, Infinio was acquired by IgniteTech, a firm that specializes in acquiring and managing enterprise software companies. Following the acquisition, Infinio became part of IgniteTech's portfolio of software solutions. The acquisition marked a significant milestone in Infinio's journey, transitioning it from a standalone startup to a brand within a larger software conglomerate.
