About IADYS

IADYS, established in the South of France in 2016 by founder and CEO Nicolas Carlési, Ph.D., is a company focused on developing robotic and AI solutions for environmental preservation, specifically water depollution. A passionate diver and sailor, Carlési was inspired to leverage his robotics expertise to combat the marine pollution he witnessed firsthand. The company's business model centers on the design, manufacturing, and sale of its robotic products to a diverse client base.

The initial product, the Jellyfishbot, was first sold in 2018 and is a compact, remote-controlled robot designed to collect floating waste and oil in hard-to-reach areas of water bodies like ports, marinas, and industrial sites. Weighing around 20kg, it can be operated by a single person and can collect up to 80 liters of waste or 30 liters of oil in its nets. Beyond waste collection, the Jellyfishbot is a versatile tool capable of deploying booms, performing infrastructure inspections with an onboard camera, measuring water quality parameters like temperature and salinity, and conducting bathymetric surveys. The company sells its products directly to a wide range of clients including industrial and petrochemical companies like ExxonMobil and Dow Chemical, anti-pollution service providers, port authorities, research institutes, and tourism facilities.

To address the specific needs of industrial markets, IADYS has expanded its product line to include the Jellyfishbot EXPERT range and the Mobile Oil Skimmer (MOS). The EXPERT version offers enhanced features such as improved obstacle avoidance and LED projectors for inspections in low light. The MOS, designed for the anti-pollution sector, combines the Jellyfishbot's mobility with an efficient oil skimmer, allowing for the collection of hydrocarbons without consumables in shallow and narrow areas. The company has secured significant funding to fuel its growth, including a Series A round of $10.7 million (€10 million) in late 2024, led by investors GO CAPITAL and Innovacom. This capital is intended to scale up production, expand the team, and support international expansion, most notably through the establishment of a subsidiary in Houston, Texas, to serve the American industrial market.
