GeoPura, founded in 2019 by Andrew Cunningham and Ben Todd, is a UK-based company at the forefront of the green hydrogen sector, providing a zero-emission alternative to traditional diesel generators. The technology is targeted at sectors with high diesel consumption, such as construction, infrastructure projects, outdoor events, film and TV production, and backup power for critical infrastructure. GeoPura also provides solutions for off-grid EV charging stations. The company was established with a vision to decarbonize the economy by commercializing green hydrogen. Andrew Cunningham, the CEO, and Ben Todd, the CTO, combined their expertise in energy systems and engineering to drive the company's initial growth. GeoPura has secured significant funding to support its expansion, including a £36 million Series A round in 2023 and a £56 million round in 2024, attracting major investors like GM Ventures, Barclays Sustainable Impact Capital, Siemens Energy Ventures, and the UK Infrastructure Bank. These investments are aimed at mass-producing HPUs, increasing green hydrogen production capacity, and expanding its specialist workforce.
