In 2002, Dominique Bayon and Laurent Depommier-Cotton founded Foliateam, then known as Venice Telecom, with Jean-Pierre Brier joining shortly after through an acquisition. The company started as a telecommunications service provider for businesses, initially growing by acquiring other installers. This strategy established them as a key player in enterprise telecommunications. A pivotal moment arrived in late 2020 when a group of 20 managers, led by Bruno David, Jean-Baptiste Perraudin, Francis Houot, and Franck Marconnet, took over the company. This management buyout was supported by a significant €40 million fundraising round from investors including Société Générale Capital Partenaires and Bpifrance. This event marked a strategic shift, solidifying their transition from a traditional telecom provider to a cloud-focused operator. Under new leadership, Foliateam accelerated its growth through a series of strategic acquisitions. The company acquired numerous firms, such as Quonex, Resophone Group, and Apps2com in 2018, to expand its services in unified communications and extend its regional presence. This aggressive acquisition strategy, which has included more than 18 companies to date, has been central to Foliateam's plan to become a leading independent cloud operator in France. Today, the company continues to expand its offerings in IT, cybersecurity, and cloud services across the country.
