About Finsecur

Finsecur, established in 2000 by co-founder Jacques Lewiner, operates in the French fire safety systems market. The company is a vertically integrated player, handling the design, manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of its systems. Its product portfolio is comprehensive, encompassing fire alarms (from type 1 to type 4), automatic sensors and detectors, sound and light indicators, and automatic gas extinguishing systems. Finsecur’s business model centers on producing and selling this equipment, supplemented by services such as client training, on-site technical assistance, and ongoing maintenance to ensure the longevity of its installations.

The company's strategy from its inception was to develop open-architecture solutions in a market dominated by closed systems, allowing for greater interoperability with third-party products. Production is primarily based in France, which enables the company to maintain control over quality and industrial responsiveness, adhering to EN 54 and NF SSI quality standards. Finsecur serves a client base that includes distributors, electricians, and direct customers, operating in sectors like hospitals and industrial environments. After facing financial difficulties starting in 2015, the firm began seeking an acquirer in 2018.

In September 2020, a significant milestone occurred when Finsecur was acquired by Maple Armor, the Canadian subsidiary of Chinese fire safety group Jade Bird Fire. This transaction, which valued Finsecur at 89 million euros, saw Jade Bird Fire become a majority shareholder with over 67.25% of the capital. The acquisition was a strategic move for Jade Bird Fire to establish a European development base in France while providing Finsecur with the financial stability to clear substantial debt and continue its R&D efforts, which have an annual budget of 2.5 million euros. The new ownership structure aims to support Finsecur's expansion in France and across Europe, with François Yang appointed as president, while co-founder Jacques Lewiner remains as chairman of the board.
