About Fashion Cloud

Fashion Cloud GmbH is a B2B platform that connects brands and retailers in the fashion industry, offering an all-in-one solution for exchanging data and content, and for digital ordering. The company was founded in Hamburg, Germany, in 2015 by René Schnellen, Martin Brücher, and Florian Klemt. David Schaap and Alies ter Kuile later joined as co-founders. Prior to founding the company, Brücher worked as a management consultant and an engineer in renewable energies, Schnellen was a consultant in the fashion industry, and Klemt was a software engineer.

The platform aims to digitize and streamline wholesale processes for the fashion, footwear, and sports industries. It enables brands to share marketing materials and product data, including sustainability attributes, with retailers. Retailers can access this content through a web interface or integrate it directly into their own systems. Fashion Cloud serves over 700 brands and more than 25,000 retailers, including major names like Hugo Boss and Zalando. The company operates on a platform business model, with revenue generated from annual fees paid by both brands and retailers based on the number of users.

The company's product suite includes a Content solution for accessing marketing material and product data, and an Order solution for digital pre- and reordering. Key features include a Digital Showroom for presenting collections and managing orders, Smart Replenishment for automated, data-driven reorders, and B2B shops that allow suppliers to sell directly to their wholesale partners. Fashion Cloud has expanded its offerings through acquisitions, including Nyon in 2019 and Stitch Showroom in 2023.

Fashion Cloud has raised a total of $26.3 million over three funding rounds. A significant Series B funding round in December 2022, led by Verdane, raised €25 million to support international expansion and product development. The company has offices in Hamburg and Amsterdam and employs over 100 people.
