About Exein
Exein is a Rome cybersecurity company building runtime and firmware security for IoT, OT and Physical AI devices—detecting and responding to threats on-device at the kernel and firmware layer rather than only at the network edge. Founded in 2018 by Gianni Cuozzo with Giovanni Falcione and Gerardo Gagliardo, Exein offers Analyzer for AI-assisted firmware vulnerability scanning (including Cyber Resilience Act readiness) and Runtime for continuous monitoring on Linux and RTOS systems used in robots, vehicles, industrial and medical equipment, and is developing foundation models on machine telemetry for autonomous security agents. Customers and partners span automotive, aerospace, critical infrastructure, manufacturing and semiconductors, with named ecosystem ties including NVIDIA, Arm and AWS. In September 2026 Exein raised $270 million at a $1.7 billion valuation led by Headline, with Sofina, Goldman Sachs, EIB Group/ETCI, KfW Capital, T.Capital and prior investors including Balderton and Lakestar, following a hyper-growth 2025 that included about $70 million raised earlier—to fund US/APAC expansion (including Taiwan HQ) and M&A.
