About EVRYTHNG

EVRYTHNG is a software company that provides a platform for managing digital identities for physical consumer goods. Founded in January 2011 by Niall Murphy, Andy Hobsbawm, Dominique Guinard, and Vlad Trifa, the company pioneered the "Product Cloud" category. This service assigns an "Active Digital Identity™" to each product item, creating a web-addressable, digital twin in the cloud. This allows brands to gather real-time data throughout a product's lifecycle, from manufacturing to the end consumer.

The founders have extensive backgrounds in technology and entrepreneurship. Niall Murphy, a computer scientist, previously co-founded the WiFi network The Cloud and an early internet service provider in Africa. Andy Hobsbawm is an entrepreneur who co-founded the new media company Online Magic and the environmental initiative Do The Green Thing. Dominique Guinard and Vlad Trifa both earned PhDs from ETH Zurich, where their research laid the groundwork for the Web of Things, a concept central to EVRYTHNG's platform. Their collective expertise in IoT, web services, and business development shaped the company's core offering.

The company operates on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) business model, with clients subscribing to specific modules on the EVRYTHNG Product Cloud®. This model serves major consumer brands in industries like apparel, beverages, and personal care, including Ralph Lauren, Coca-Cola, and Diageo. By using technologies like QR codes, NFC, and RFID, brands can track products, verify authenticity, combat counterfeiting, and engage directly with consumers. In January 2022, EVRYTHNG was acquired by Digimarc Corporation, a company specializing in digital watermarking. The acquisition combined Digimarc's identification technology with EVRYTHNG's product intelligence platform to offer a more complete solution for end-to-end product traceability and analytics.
