Einride is a Swedish freight technology company, founded in 2016 by Robert Falck, Linnéa Kornehed, and Filip Lilja, that provides digital, electric, and autonomous shipping solutions. The company was established with the goal of reinventing the freight industry, which its founders saw as inefficient and carbon-intensive. Founder Robert Falck was previously a director at Volvo, bringing industry experience, while Linnéa Kornehed Falck has a background as an entrepreneur coach and has been recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Einride's business model is centered on a Freight-Capacity-as-a-Service (FCaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) approach. Through a subscription model, the company offers a complete solution that includes electric and autonomous vehicles, charging infrastructure, and its proprietary AI-powered software platform, Saga. This model allows clients to transition to electric freight without large upfront investments in hardware. Einride serves a range of enterprise customers, including GE Appliances, Maersk, Lidl, Oatly, and Mars, helping them decarbonize their logistics operations. The company's core technology is the Einride Saga platform, an intelligent operating system that manages and optimizes the entire shipping ecosystem. Saga collects and analyzes data to handle planning, monitoring, and coordination of shipments, vehicles, and charging infrastructure. The hardware fleet includes the Einride Pod, a cab-less autonomous vehicle, and the Einride Truck, a conventional electric truck. A significant milestone was achieved in 2019 when Einride became the first company to operate a cab-less autonomous, electric freight vehicle on a public road. The company has since expanded its operations across Europe and North America and has recently extended its offerings to include logistics for defense operations.
