Their lead product, EsophaGel™, is designed to treat Barrett's esophagus, a precancerous condition resulting from chronic gastric reflux that currently lacks an effective therapy. This hydrogel adheres to the esophageal surface and, in pre-clinical studies, has demonstrated the potential to halt or even reverse the progression toward esophageal cancer. Beyond the esophagus, the company received FDA Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) approval in May 2025 to begin a U.S. feasibility study for ECMT-100, a hydrogel for the treatment of anorectal fistulas.
