Aderis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., established in 1994 and originally known as Discovery Therapeutics, was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical firm headquartered in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The company was co-founded by Noel J Cusack, who also served as its Chief Scientific Officer. Aderis concentrated on the discovery and development of small-molecule, receptor-specific therapeutics aimed at central nervous system (CNS), cardiovascular, and renal diseases. The company's strategy revolved around creating drug candidates that could selectively block (antagonize) or increase (agonize) the activity of specific proteins, with the goal of achieving therapeutic effects while minimizing side effects.

After a failed attempt at an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2002 due to unfavorable market conditions, Aderis Pharmaceuticals continued its operations as a private entity. The company's journey as an independent firm concluded on July 15, 2005, when it was acquired by Schwarz Pharma AG. This acquisition marked the integration of Aderis's specialized drug development programs, particularly its work in CNS and cardiovascular therapeutics, into the portfolio of a larger pharmaceutical corporation.
