About Deep Safety
DeepSafety (Deep Safety GmbH, formerly L5 Safety) builds safety-rated perception AI for robots and automation. Its flagship product, DS-Proxima (branded AiDAR), is a certifiable spatial AI sensor combining multimodal RGB and infrared cameras with proprietary edge-AI to give robots reliable human detection, safe free-space detection and out-of-domain detection at SIL 2 (IEC 61508) functional-safety levels - LiDAR-grade safety assurance at the price of a camera. The company sells to manufacturers of humanoid robots, autonomous mobile robots and industrial automation seeking human-robot collaboration compliant with functional-safety standards and the EU AI Act. Rooted in the autonomous driving revolution, the team of computer vision, robotics, autonomous driving and functional-safety experts has researched AI safety since 2016, built early certified self-driving vehicles, and continues to apply its safe-AI technology to cooperative automated mobility through European research projects.
