DaTai Shanghai, also known as Dataa Robotics, is a developer, producer, and operator of cloud-based intelligent robots. Founded in 2015 by Bill Huang (Huang Xiaoqing), the company is headquartered in Shanghai with additional branches in Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Zhuhai. Huang, who serves as Chairman and CEO, has an extensive background in telecommunications and technology, having held senior roles at UTStarcom and China Mobile Research Institute, and is often referred to as the "Father of Cloud Robots". He is joined by co-founders including Robert Zhang, who oversees global business and strategic partnerships, and Mike Zhuang, who manages financial planning.

The company's core business revolves around its proprietary Cloud Robot Architecture, which combines a "Cloud Brain" (Cloud AI), a secure network, and the physical robot device. This architecture is powered by the HARIX OS, a cloud robot operating system launched in 2017. The system enables robots to perform complex tasks and engage in self-learning through cloud computing, deep learning, and digital twin technologies. Dataa Robotics has developed a multi-modal large model for robotics called RobotGPT. The firm's product lineup includes humanoid robots like Cloud Ginger and a range of service robots designed for specific functions such as delivery, security patrol, cleaning, auto-sanitization, and vending. A key component of their hardware is the Smart Compliant Actuator (SCA), an integrated smart joint that facilitates the construction of advanced robots.

The company provides professional robot operation services and customized solutions, such as the "AI+Smart Community" for the real estate sector, to reduce costs and improve service quality.
