Convergen is a biotechnology company pioneering targeted protein degradation (TPD) therapies designed to selectively eliminate pathological protein aggregates, which lie at the core of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's. Its TrimTAC platform builds bifunctional degraders that exploit the E3 ubiquitin ligase TRIM21; scientific founder Prof. Ting Han, whose laboratory reported the first TRIM21 molecular glue, established proof-of-concept for the first TrimTAC degrader in Cell in November 2024. Beyond neurodegeneration, TrimTAC has shown potential for selectively degrading targets in autoimmune diseases. The company is led by CEO Dr. Jinquan Sun and combines academic research with industry drug development expertise. After a $10 million seed round led exclusively by Qiming Venture Partners, Convergen announced on 31 August 2026 the closing of a $15 million Seed+ round led by MPCi, with LAV, BioTrack Capital and a leading biotech fund, to advance its degrader platform and move its lead asset toward the clinic.
