Celeno

The company was founded in 2005 by Gilad Rozen, who served as the CEO. Its headquarters are located in Raanana, Israel, with a global presence that includes offices in the US, EMEA, and the Asia Pacific region. In a significant milestone, Celeno was acquired by Renesas Electronics Corporation, a Japanese semiconductor supplier. The deal, valued at approximately $315 million, was announced in October 2021 and successfully completed in December 2021, after which Celeno began operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Renesas.

Celeno provides advanced Wi-Fi chipsets, edge software, and cloud technology tailored for high-performance home networks, smart buildings, enterprise settings, and industrial solutions. Its business model revolves around supplying these components and technologies to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). These OEMs then integrate Celeno's solutions into a wide range of devices, including home gateways, routers, set-top boxes, and enterprise access points. These finished products are subsequently deployed by service providers worldwide, with tens of millions of devices using Celeno's technology in homes globally.

A key offering is its Wi-Fi Doppler Imaging technology. This system uses standard Wi-Fi signals to sense, track, and analyze the motion and location of people and objects without the need for cameras or other sensors. By interpreting the Doppler effect on Wi-Fi waves, it can capture and classify complex movements, postures, and even minute motions like breathing. This capability functions through walls and in any lighting condition, offering applications in fields such as elderly care for fall detection, home security, and building management for people counting. The company also produces the CL6000 "Denali" product family, a single-chip solution that combines Wi-Fi 6/6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi Doppler Radar, targeting IoT devices, consumer electronics, and industrial automation.
