Career Power operates as the offline, classroom-based arm of Adda247, an ed-tech platform focused on test preparation for government jobs in India. The company was established in 2010 by co-founders Anil Nagar and Saurabh Bansal with an initial investment of Rs 1 lakh. The first branch was opened in Delhi, and its early success, with 26 out of 32 students in the inaugural batch securing jobs, fueled its expansion. By 2016, Career Power had grown to over 70 physical training centers across India.

The founding of Career Power was deeply influenced by Anil Nagar's personal journey. Raised in a small farming village in Uttar Pradesh, Nagar personally experienced the lack of proper guidance for competitive exams. After successfully clearing the IIT entrance exam, studying at IIT-BHU, and working in the corporate sector for companies like Cognizant, he felt a strong desire to help aspirants from similar backgrounds. This led him to leave his corporate job and start the test preparation venture with Saurabh Bansal, a finance graduate from Delhi University with experience at firms like ICRA and Yes Bank. The initial focus was on assisting graduates in preparing for bank recruitment and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exams.

Career Power's business model revolves around providing in-person coaching for a wide array of government job exams, including banking, SSC, railways, teaching, and defense. It serves students who prefer a traditional classroom learning environment, complete with one-on-one doubt support and mentorship. The company is part of the larger entity Metis Eduventures Private Limited, incorporated in 2012, which is the parent company of the Adda247 brand. While Career Power focuses on offline coaching, the founders launched the online platform Adda247 in 2016 to cater to a broader audience, especially students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities who couldn't access physical centers. The combined entity offers a comprehensive suite of products, including live online classes, video courses, mock tests, and e-books, available in over 12 regional languages.
