About Cambridge Aerospace

Cambridge Aerospace is a UK air-defence company building low-cost autonomous interceptors—led by its Skyhammer system—to counter mass drone and missile threats for allied forces. Founded in 2024 by aerospace engineer Professor Steven Barrett (CEO), former Royal Marine Chris Sylvan (CCO) and entrepreneur Junaid Hussain, the company has grown past 250 people with roughly two-thirds in technical and engineering roles, and has a presence in the UK plus Germany, Poland, Norway, Ukraine and Australia. Skyhammer is under UK Ministry of Defence contracts, including work linked to the Low-Cost Effectors & Autonomous Platforms (LEAP) programme, with next-generation Starhammer targeted for 2027. Funding includes early capital, a $200 million Series B at about a $1.3 billion valuation co-led by Elad Gil & Co and Spark Capital, and in August 2026 a $300 million Series C at a $3.4 billion valuation led by DFJ Growth with Lux, Accel, Lakestar, Never Lift, Ora Global and Elad Gil & Co, to expand manufacturing and spiral development of current and next-generation interceptors.
