Founded in 2015, Shanghai Boonray Intelligent Technology operates at the intersection of autonomous driving and the Internet of Things, providing specialized robotics solutions primarily for the mining industry. The company was established by Founder and CEO Jacky Hu and Co-Founder and CTO Yang Yang. Boonray develops and implements full-stack intelligent solutions designed to enhance operational efficiency and safety in harsh industrial environments, with a significant focus on open-pit mines.

The core of Boonray's offering is its proprietary unmanned operation platform, which integrates an automated driving algorithm, an intelligent driving controller, and a cloud-based monitoring and dispatch system. This system, marketed as "Boonray iDrive", is engineered to manage fleets of vehicles, supporting both fully autonomous and manned equipment, including mining trucks and excavators.
