BlueStar
Customer service and providing a great experience for its customers
About BlueStar
Established in 2006 as Beijing BlueStar Software Technology Development Co., Ltd., BlueStar (bstar.com.cn) has become a significant provider of intelligent video surveillance solutions and security products, primarily targeting critical industries. The company's journey began even earlier, in the 1990s, with a focus on alarm products, which laid the groundwork for its future in the security sector. A pivotal moment came in December 2000 with the formal establishment of Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou BlueStar entities, concentrating on the R&D of their own branded digital video recorders. This focus quickly yielded results, with the launch of their first embedded digital video recorder in January 2001, a pioneering move in China's security field.
The company is steered by CEO Xiao Gang, who entered the security industry in 1993 and founded BlueStar in 2000 after gaining experience as a major distributor for Sanyo CCTV products and as a deputy General Manager at another video networking group. BlueStar operates on a business-to-business model, designing, developing, and manufacturing proprietary video network solutions for a diverse client base that includes finance, military, police, transportation, and community sectors. A major portion of its business comes from providing video network technology to banks in China, counting the five major state-owned banks as loyal customers. Revenue is generated through the sale of its comprehensive product line and integrated security solutions.
BlueStar’s product portfolio is extensive, covering the full spectrum of a modern surveillance system. Key offerings include a range of network cameras, digital and network video recorders (DVRs/NVRs), and the BLUESTAR CENTER, a network video management platform that integrates video surveillance, alarm, and network access control sub-systems into a unified interface. The company has developed its own video compression algorithms, trajectory analysis technology, and image retrieval technology. Beyond video surveillance, their product line extends to intelligent fire protection, access control, intercom systems, and display products, forming a complete intelligent network video monitoring system. The company went public on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in June 2007 and later listed on the NEEQ (New Third Board) in China in 2017.
