Arkolia is a French integrated energy company specializing in renewable energy solutions. Founded in 2009 by Laurent Bonhomme and Jean-Sébastien Bessière, the company was born from the conviction that local production of clean energy would lead to energy independence. Headquartered in Mudaison, Arkolia operates throughout France with several regional offices.

The company's business model is vertically integrated, covering the entire lifecycle of a renewable energy project. Arkolia handles the development, design, turnkey construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of its power generation units. Revenue is generated through two primary streams: providing services for the construction of renewable energy units for its own portfolio or for third parties, and selling the green electricity produced by its own assets. Arkolia serves a diverse client base that includes farmers, local authorities, industrial and professional clients, and landowners, offering them ways to valorize unused land and surfaces like roofs and parking lots. A significant portion of its client base consists of farmers, for whom Arkolia constructs agricultural buildings equipped with photovoltaic panels at a reduced cost in exchange for a long-term lease to operate the power production.

Arkolia's portfolio of solutions is extensive, encompassing photovoltaic hangars, solar rooftops, agrivoltaic farms, ground-mounted solar plants, and parking lot canopies. Beyond solar, the company is active in wind power and methanization, having developed its own patented technology for biogas production. A dedicated research and development division focuses on advancements in areas like energy storage, smart grids, and Power-to-Gas, underscoring the company's commitment to future energy technologies. Significant milestones include the 2016 inauguration of France's largest tracking photovoltaic power plant at the time and a €15 million fundraising round in 2018. Following the passing of co-founder Laurent Bonhomme in 2021, the company is now led by Jean-Sébastien Bessière and Katia Sigaud.
