Aridge is an advanced air mobility company developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles and modular flying car systems for personal and enterprise transportation. The company operates as part of the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng and represents the evolution of its aerial mobility division.

Originally founded in 2013 as AeroHT, the company focused on research and development of flying car technologies before being acquired by XPeng in 2020 and rebranded as XPeng AeroHT. In 2025, the business adopted the name Aridge as part of a broader strategy to support international expansion and operate with greater brand independence, while remaining integrated within the XPeng ecosystem.

Aridge develops hybrid-electric and fully electric aircraft designed to operate in “low-altitude mobility” scenarios, bridging ground transportation and short-distance flight. Its flagship concept is a modular flying car system that combines a road vehicle with a detachable aerial module capable of vertical takeoff. The company is also developing longer-range aircraft, including tiltrotor models designed for intercity travel and higher passenger capacity.

The company’s strategy centers on scaling flying vehicles from experimental prototypes into mass-produced products. It has established manufacturing capabilities in China aimed at automotive-style production volumes, with commercial deliveries targeted in the second half of the decade. Alongside product development, Aridge is pursuing international partnerships and early commercial orders, particularly in the Middle East, as it works through certification and regulatory pathways.

Positioned within the broader push toward urban and low-altitude air mobility, Aridge aims to integrate aviation into everyday transportation systems, targeting both private users and enterprise applications.
